Narvaez inaugurated as 50th president of American Water Resources Association
9:24 a.m., Dec. 3, 2015--The University of Delaware’s Martha
Narvaez was inaugurated as the 50th president of the American Water
Resources Association (AWRA) at the organization’s annual conference
held Nov. 16-19 in Denver, Colorado.
Narvaez accepted the gavel from outgoing president John C. Tracy, who
is the director of the University of Idaho Water Resources Research
Institute in Boise.
She will serve her term in 2016, and follows presidents who have come
from institutions that include Texas A&M University, Pennsylvania
State University, the University of Wisconsin and the University of
Narvaez is a policy scientist with the University’s Water Resources Agency
in the Institute for Public Administration and School of Public Policy
and Administration, and has also served as founding president of the
Delaware state chapter of the AWRA and co-founder of the UD student
section of the AWRA.
