Organizational and Community Leadership Careers
Organizational & Community Leadership majors are prepared to accept the challenge of leadership in an increasingly complex, global and fast-paced world. Organizational & Community Leadership majors use their knowledge of leadership and quality of life issues to evaluate and mobilize collective actions that advance positive change for individuals, communities, organizations and society. "Leadership has inspired me to take an active role in society. The courses offered have given me a solid understanding of being a change agent in the business sector," comments Kathleen Harrell, Assistant to Sales and Marketing Director of People Magazine.
Leaders must interact with a wide variety of people in a wide variety of settings. The Organizational & Community Leadership faculty ensure that graduates are uniquely prepared for positions in the for-profit, non-profit, and public sectors. "Dr. Morrison has had a strong influence on me throughout my college experience. He has helped me realize that I can obtain a career that is rewarding on both a personal and professional level. A career that will allow me to make a meaningful contribution to society," Kevin Wolf, senior leadership major.

Salary Basics

Although salaries vary, students entering the work force are well prepared for quick advancement due to their extensive training.
"The leadership education I received at the University of Delaware gave me a leg up on my fellow interns within MSNBC. Utilizing the skills I gained from my courses, I designed a new program targeting new demographic during my internship, earning a full time position. I was so valuable to the organization they actually tried to convince me to forgo the completion of my degree to start working immediately for their corporation," says Rachel Schwab, a senior Leadership Major.
