Minor in Organizational and Community Leadership

The minor in requires Organizational & Community Leadership 18 credit hours, distributed as follows:  Three LEAD courses listed below (credits), one COMM coure selectd from the approved COMM courses list (3 credits), and two additional courses selected in consultation with and approved by the student's minor advisor (6 credits).  Six of the nine elective credits must be from outside of the student's major field of study.  The electives must be chosen from the following list of Restricted Electives.  All courses included in the minor must be completed with a grade of C- or better.

9 Credits of Core Courses:

  LEAD 100 Leadership, Integrity and change 3 credits
    OR LEAD 101 Global Contexts for Leadership 3 credits
  LEAD 200 The Leadership Challenge 3 credits
  LEAD 300 Leadership, Creativity and Innovation 3 credits

9 credits of Restricted Electives - only one of these courses may be within the student's major area of study 

1 COMM restricted elective 3 credits
2 Restricted electives from list 6 credits

Elective courses for each student's program will be selected in consultation with, and approved by, the student's minor advisor.  You may choose to either concentrate your electives in one category, or spread out your electives to cover the categories of Competencies, Integrity and Ethics, and Context.
